Program Support Assistant

Primary function is to make eligibility determinations for VA healthcare which requires knowledge of laws, directives, policies and procedures. Responsible for running data reports for unverified status of applications, incomplete encounter management errors due to any administrative data input. Updating demographic information. Verifying eligibility/entitlement Using various methods including income assessments, military discharge documents, computer hospital inquiry (HINQ), Veterans Information Solutions (VIS) or by other means Communication with other offices or department Advises Veterans of their eligibility for VA Health care including whether they are eligible or not. Enters data into Vista. Reviews reports, record, and statistical computations for accuracy and propriety. Reviews the Incomplete Encounter Management Module (IEMM) report in order to clean up any discrepancies in administrative data that would prevent the transmission of encounters. Reviews, verifies, and analyzes data submitted for consistency with financial and program objectives and adherence to VA directives. Admits and discharges patients from inpatient settings. Maintains accurate log of beneficiaries checking in for services in the Emergency Department (ED) and accurately logged their disposition. Work schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Broad knowledge and experience in the field of patient administration both inpatient and outpatient, including medical records and related fields of medical administration. Skill in determining eligibility for benefits SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME Proficient with extracting information from programs to obtain required information. Knowledge of varied functions of computer spreadsheets, database computer applications etc. to produce and maintain a wide variety of documents. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
