Motor Vehicle Operator

Chauffeur duties which include transporting VASNHS employees in the performance of their official duties, veterans/patients, official visitors, physicians, dentists, and other authorized individuals. Picking up and delivering X-rays, medical records, CAT scans MRI's, and/or consultations to and from local non-VA physician's offices, community health care facilities, the ACC, and the MOFH when requested. Driving passenger shuttle vans and patient transport vehicles, under non-emergent conditions, over predetermined routes arriving at and departing from pick up and discharge points at scheduled times. Delivering VASNHS Laboratory Service specimens to Michael O'Callahan Medical Center for dispatch to other VA Medical Centers (VAMCs). Ensuring fleet vehicles, maintained by the VASNHS, are inspected every six (6) months and are in good working condition daily. Handles incoming VA mail from the United States Postal Service (USPS) in accordance with USPS Regulations, VA Regulations and Station Policy. Accepting United Parcel Service (UPS) and Federal Express (FED EX) items for the VA, which may include materials which are hazardous and/or require immediate refrigeration and must be alert to any special handling needs. Receiving, opening, date stamping, reading, classifying, and routing correspondence, reports, and other miscellaneous material to appropriate services, departments, employees, and patients within the ACC and the MOFH. Utilizing mail carts for door-to-door mail delivery throughout the hospital. All requests for reproduction/printing are accomplished on a photocopy machine in a timely manner according to priority. Experience:

Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. 1. Reliability and Dependability as a Motor Vehicle Operator. 2. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications with respect to Motor Vehicle/Postal/Reproduction Operations. 3. Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a lighted, ventilated, heated and/or air-conditioned office, throughout the ACC and/or the MOFH. Additionally, work is also performed outside when using a motor vehicle for transporting records or equipment to a warehouse, mail to and from the post office and in the performance of delivering mail to two (2) separate buildings at the ACC and MOFH., there would be exposure to the environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
