SUMMARYThis position, under administrative direction, supports product manufacturing, customer service, and administrative functions.
The responsibilities include analyzing inventories, performing batch ticket transactions, recording key performance indicators, and communicating finished good inventory levels.
The role also involves analyzing product sales, trends, and inventories to plan and coordinate the transfer of intercompany finished goods inventory.
Additionally, the position involves procuring supplies and raw materials, ensuring accurate inventory counts, and coordinating routine cycle counts.
I.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESA.
Production SchedulingThe Production Assistant supports product manufacturing, customer service, and administrative functions by analyzing sales data, inventory levels, warehouse space, and production methods to develop strategic production schedules.
Results and Expectations:
Validate production requirements by analyzing sales information, trends, and inventory levels.
Provide timely creation of batch tickets to support operations and customer service.
Ensure accurate and timely posting of batch tickets to support financial results.
Develop recommended stocking levels for resale products.
Produce daily batch tickets for each manufacturing department, including premixes, base products, and packaging tickets.
Communicate changes or problems promptly to relevant parties.
Post completed production into the accounting system and analyze formula changes.
Maintain the Batch Ticket Control Log.

Stock TransfersThe Production Assistant supports customer service by analyzing sales data, trends, and inventories to plan and coordinate the transfer of intercompany finished goods products.
Results and Expectations:
Maintain appropriate levels of transferable and transferred materials.
Follow company Stock Transfer Procedure.
C.
ProcurementThe Production Assistant supports product manufacturing and administrative functions by identifying raw material needs, procuring supplies, and arranging delivery.
Results and Expectations:
Procure bulk materials by establishing inventory levels and reordering quantities.
Maintain open communication with buyers to support the procurement of non-bulk inventory.
Reduce costs by maintaining minimal inventory and seeking lowest cost delivery options.
Monitor receiving documentation for compliance with internal controls and procedures.
Prepare and distribute management reports by collecting and analyzing information.
D.
Accurate InventoriesThe Production Assistant assists in maintaining accurate inventories of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods by coordinating physical inventory processes and conducting routine cycle counts.
Results and Expectations:
Assist in the physical inventory process and provide accurate initial reports of inventory.
Maintain accurate counts through routine cycle counts and prepare reports on discrepancies.
II.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain branch activity report and enter daily production, sales, shipping activities, etc.
Act as Purchasing Assistant, Non-bulk Buyer, or Shipping Assistant in the absence of respective personnel.
Contribute to team efforts and accomplish related results as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.
IV.
QUALIFICATIONSA.
Education High School Diploma College courses in accounting, inventory, purchasing, and MRP are recommended.
B.
SkillsThe ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Lotus or Excel.
The candidate should be detail-oriented, able to maintain accurate records, and possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
C.
Physical ConditionsThe work is primarily sedentary, but occasional physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and carrying boxed files and supplies weighing 40 pounds or less may be required.
Manual dexterity is necessary for operating computer terminals and calculators.
D.
Working ConditionsSpecial safety requirements may apply when working in the plant or lab.
There may be exposure to or handling of hazardous chemicals.
IV.
Supervision ReceivedThe Production Assistant works under the direction of the Plant Manager and collaborates with various departments and personnel within the organization.
